Saturday, December 9 - Embracing God's Love

Read Ezekiel 36:24-28

"You will be my people, and I will be your God."

In this passage we see God's desire to bring His people back to Him. He will gather His people, cleanse them and remove their hearts of stone and give them a heart of flesh. Throughout the New and Old Testaments we see God expressing His great love for us, His people. The phrase "You shall be my people, and I will be your God" is written many times in the Bible which shows how much God desires for us to be in a relationship with Him. He will give His people His spirit to aid us in following His laws and to live a life of righteousness.

At Christmas we celebrate His greatest gift, His son, to lead us to Him so that we may be His people.

Gracious God; We ask that every day you give us a heart of love and eyes to see how we can be your people.

Amen
