Read Ephesians 6:10-17
"Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."
God has blessed each of us with this full armor, in the form of the Holy Spirit that dwells within us. But, until we call upon the Holy Spirit in our daily lives, the armor remains hanging in the closet. God, in the form of Jesus, came into the world, lived among us, died and rose from the dead for us. He also left his Spirit as an Advocate within us to guide and direct our every thought. We have only to call upon the Holy Spirit in all things by taking the armor out of the closet and putting it on to fight against the ways of the world. In this, we will find strength, courage, truth, righteousness, readiness, faith and God's saving Grace - all weapons essential to transform this world.
Oh God, nudge our sometimes-hardened hearts to put on your Holy Spirit as armor when the world threatens our way of life. Remind us that how we live through our actions and words is an example to the world that your Way is a much better way than that of the world. Guide and direct our thoughts, words and deeds that we may be constantly giving you glory in all we say and do.
