Friday, December 15 - Remembering God
Advent @ Woodland
Advent marks the first season of the Christian year. The word Advent means coming or arrival.
In the church, the season of Advent is a time of preparation and anticipation of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. During the weeks of Advent, we are given the opportunity to make Jesus' birth a part of our everyday lives. Advent is marked by a spirit of expectation, anticipation, preparation and longing. This is the time when we remember and celebrate God's drawing near to us. Traditionally, the season of Advent begins the fourth Sunday before Christmas.
This Advent Devotional was written by members of our church family here at Woodland. You are encouraged to use these devotions as a time of preparation and reflection as you anticipate the birth of the Christ Child.
