Part-Time Youth Director

Position: Youth Director
Hours: 10 hours per week
Role: Responsible for developing and and overseeing programs that nurture the spiritual growth of youth. This role requires a dynamic individual who can connect with young people, foster a welcoming environment, mentor youth and volunteers, and effectively communicate through various media platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
●Curriculum Development: Create and deliver a faith and life-focused curriculum for youth.●Safe Environment: Ensure a safe and welcoming space for young Christians.●Youth Gatherings: Organize regular youth group meetings that include meals, devotions, small group discussions, games, and fellowship.●Mentorship: Serve as a mentor to youth and youth leaders, providing guidance and support.●Volunteer Leadership: Cultivate leadership within parents and church members to support youth activities.●Communication: Keep parents and youth informed about program updates.●Promotion: Promote youth programs through social media, newsletters, and other media channels.●United Youth Leadership: Participate and provide leadership in the District Youth Cooperative, fostering collaboration and shared events among community youth groups.
Qualifications and Aptitudes:

Must have familiarity with a church environment.

Must possess a proven ability to work effectively with youth, diverse individuals, and teams of volunteers.

Must embrace Christian discipline and United Methodist doctrine and theology.

Must have vision and ability to plan, develop, coordinate, manage, and implement a youth ministry within the parameters of the United Methodist Church.

Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills, and conflict resolution skills.
